Petnet (PintoFeed) – One of the First Smart Pet Feeders

The Petnet SmartFeeder is no longer being manufactured as the company had to shut its doors. We do, however, have a long list of other amazing pet feeders. Click here to find out more and read our reviews!

Feeding your pet is a delicate balance. Some pets with medical conditions need regular meals to keep blood sugar or hormone levels stable, but it can be difficult to provide round-the-clock feedings. Petnet saw this need and decided to create a product that would help solve all of these problems, making life easier for people and happier for pets. Petnet created one of the first smart pet feeders with multiple settings to allow for ease of use.

The Petnet SmartFeeder

The Petnet SmartFeeder connects your phone and your smart home devices to your pet’s feeder, allowing you to have total control over your pet’s feeding schedule.

Regardless of why you might need it, the ability to provide extra feedings, scheduled feedings, and adjustable meal amounts will help you manage your pet’s feeding schedule like a pro. The device scores over 7,000 pet food recipes with a quality score based on ingredients and nutritional density. This allows you to see a quality rating for your pet’s food. To make this even easier, the Petnet SmartShop allows you to view these quality scores before you even purchase a pet food.

How Does It Work?

This feeder connects to your phone via an app and allows you to set up a profile for your pet. This profile includes weight, age, activity level, and breed, and then matches you with suggested feeding amounts and schedules. If your pet needs a different feeding schedule than the suggested schedule, you have complete control over that and can manually set a feeding schedule that works for your pet and your home.

Since the Petnet SmartFeeder also connects to smart home devices, you can use more than your phone to control the feedings. It connects seamlessly to Alexa and Google Home, allowing you to make adjustments and monitor your pet’s feeding, even if you can’t find your phone. You can also connect the same feeder to multiple phones, meaning that you and other household members can make needed adjustments and get notifications when it’s time to refill the feeder, ensuring your pet never misses a meal.

The Petnet SmartFeeder is recommended for dogs and cats up to 60 pounds. The Petnet SmartFeeder has a battery backup that allows it to continue running for up to 7 hours without power.

When Pintofeed Became Petnet

The Pintofeed machine was a trailblazer in what quickly became a hot market for intelligent feeders and interactive pet devices. In 2014, the product was renamed the Petnet SmartFeeder and continues to be optimized as technology progresses. The latest version offers personalized meal portions based on your pet’s breed, weight, and age. There’s even an option to have food shipped to your door when you’re running low, as the Pintofeed SmartFeeder can track your supply.
